Error: “OCR module failed – Failed to replace document pages”

    • Problem

    When trying to run OCR, Revu displays the OCR Module report dialog with the following errors:

    • OCR module failed
    • Failed to replace document pages

    Cause

    These errors occur in either of the following conditions:

    • The PDF is too large or has too many pages.
    • The Windows user name contains special characters (such as @ # * _ ^ & +).

    Solution 1: The PDF is too large or has too many pages

    1. Select Document > OCR.
    2. In the OCR dialog, select Page Chunk Size and set the field value to “1”.
    3. Click Save to run OCR.

    Solution 2: The Windows user name contains special characters

    Determine whether the Windows user name contains a special character. If so, create a new profile that contains no special characters. This change will allow the OCR module to run successfully.
