Problem
You see the following error message when attempting to register a Bluebeam Revu open license:
“An internet connection to the license server could not be established. Please connect to the Internet within 3 days and 0 hours to renew your offline grace period.”
Cause
The most common cause for this error is that the system clock is off by five minutes or more. Our licensing server requires the time on your device be set to the current time, or within a five-minute window.
Solution
If your system clock time is off, follow these steps to set the correct time:
- In Windows, open the Control Panel.
- Click Clock, Language, and Region.
- Under Date and Time, click Set the time and date.
- Click the Change date and time button and enter the current time.
- Click OK.
- If applicable, click Change time zone to set to the correct time zone.
- Click OK.
Your system clock should display the current time and you may attempt to register your license again.
If the problem persists
Other potential causes for this error may be that your firewall is blocking communication with the licensing server; or your user account doesn’t possess default write permissions for a specific Microsoft folder.Make sure the following servers can be reached:
https://login.microsoftonline.com
https://activation.bluebeam.com
If the servers can’t be reached, they may need to be set as trusted locations in your firewall. If the servers can be reached, ask your IT administrator to verify that you have write permissions for this folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys?
